Pink crochet outfit for baby girl

I'm pregnant!

As I write this, I’m reflecting on how close we are to meeting our baby girl. Today is January 6, and I’m due on February 14—a Valentine’s Day baby! Of course, that’s if she decides to arrive on time. It feels surreal that we’re only weeks away from holding her in our arms.

I know this blog post is long overdue. The last time I blogged was back in 2023, but I felt it was important to share this update before life gets wonderfully chaotic.

Looking back, 2024 was such an interesting and transformative year. The first half of the year was spent continuing the work I began on my mental and physical health—something I shared about in my October 12 blog post. My husband and I also traveled to some beautiful places: Mexico, Florida, and Ireland. These trips were all about prioritizing our well-being and fertility goals, making sure we were in the best place emotionally and physically to grow our family.

In April 2024, we took a significant step and visited a fertility clinic after several months of trying to conceive naturally. Honestly, I dreaded it. It felt like admitting defeat, and I was terrified of what the future might hold. Would we ever conceive without IVF? What would the journey ahead look like? But, after a couple of months of cycle monitoring and learning more about my body, we were overjoyed to conceive naturally.

This pregnancy has been an emotional rollercoaster. From the initial excitement to the inevitable worries, and now the anticipation of meeting our baby girl, it’s been a journey unlike any other. These final weeks are all about wrapping up loose ends, nesting, and getting everything ready—including my diaper bag (which is still a work in progress!).

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who’s supported us along the way. To those who believed in me and held space for my dream of becoming a mother, your encouragement has meant the world. Becoming a mom is truly a dream come true, and I’m so excited to share our little girl with you soon.

If you’re on a similar journey or just enjoy following along, I’d love to hear from you in the comments. What are your favourite baby must-haves or tips for new moms? I’m soaking up all the advice I can get during these final weeks!
